Algeria beat Egypt 1-0 in FIFA World Cup African qualifiers playoff
on Wednesday to reach WC for the third time in their history.
.First half.
The game started slowly from both teams and the Algerian defense was
tough in intersection as Nazir Belhaj got the first yellow card after 3
minutes for tough foul on Ahmed Hassan.
The Algerian team was the best in the first half and created more
chances on Essam El-Hadary goal while the first chance was by Belhaj
shot on the verge of the penalty area.
The Egyptian keeper repeated brilliant display when he
saved fantastic shot inside the six area before Belhaj sent terrific
cross rescued by El-Hadary who got foul for bad intersection of Abdel
Kader Gazal who booked for tough intersection.
The Egyptian attack entered the game when Sayed Moawad sent cross to Amr Zaki cut by defense to be a corner kick.
Wael Gomaa booked for tough foul in the 28th minutes before Mohamed
Abou Trika sent weak shot from the verge of the penalty area.
Defender Antar Yehia put the Greens in front before 7 minutes of the
end of the first half by brilliant shot on the right side of the
penalty area.
Egypt tried to balance the result before the end of the first half
when Trika received Ahmed Al-Muhamdi cross but his ball went behind the
bar.
.Second half.
The Pharaohs coach Hassan Shehata replaced Ahmed Fathi and Amr Zaki
with Hosny Abd Rabou and Mohamed Zidan to enforce the attack that led
to the Pharaohs domination on the game.
Algeria midfielders Karim Ziani and Hassan Yebda booked for tough fouls.
Karim Matmour entered for Karim Mogny.
El-Hadary rescued the Egyptians from the second goal from Ghazal header.
Mohamed Zidan made terrific show inside the penalty area and the
keeper saved the ball before Emad Meteb missed another ball saved by
the keeper.
Sifi went out for Karim Gelas and Samir Zawy replaced Yehia.
